Nike Everyday Cushioned Socks Review: 16 Weeks of Pickleball

My Nike Everyday Cushioned Socks review after 16 weeks of frequent pickleball: 4.3/5. I bought a six-pair white/black Nike SX7664-labelled set on June 25, 2026, for €23.39. They have become one of my go-to choices for pickleball because my feet feel noticeably more comfortable than they do in ordinary everyday socks. The extra cushioning makes the heel and sole feel less beaten up after playing, although the socks can get uncomfortably warm in a hot indoor hall.

I play roughly 9–12 hours of pickleball each week, mostly wearing these socks during the period. From June 25 to October 15, that works out to about 144–192 total hours of pickleball. That is an estimate of my playing time, not a claim that one pair of socks survived 192 hours: I received six pairs and have not recorded which pair I wore each time. I have also worn them all day on occasional non-playing days.

Nike Everyday Cushioned Crew Socks (SX7664)

Quick verdict (4.3/5): These have become my comfortable, good-value socks for frequent pickleball. Compared with ordinary everyday socks, the extra padding makes my feet feel less sore after play. The fit holds up during quick side-to-side movements, and washing has not caused any holes so far.

Best for: frequent recreational players who want more underfoot cushioning and especially those playing outdoors or in cooler conditions.

Skip if: you play mainly in a hot indoor hall and want the lightest, coolest-feeling sock possible.

My buying decision: I would buy them again at the price I paid, but I am looking at a more breathable premium alternative for increasing indoor play.

What worked for me
  • Noticeably more comfortable than my ordinary everyday socks during pickleball
  • Extra cushioning feels helpful around the heel and sole
  • Secure, comfortable EU 42–46 fit during quick lateral movements
  • Reasonable sweat handling during play
  • No holes after roughly 16 weeks of owning and rotating the six pairs
  • Good value at approximately €3.90 per pair
What I would change
  • They can feel slightly too warm during play in a hot indoor hall
  • Some visible discoloration and cosmetic wear after regular washing
  • Not a comparison-tested winner against specialist premium tennis socks
  • Six-pair retail offer should not be confused with Nike’s separately coded six-pack

Bottom line

4.3/5 — recommended with a heat caveat. Comfortable, secure, reasonably hard-wearing and affordable for frequent pickleball. I would repurchase them for outdoor sessions, but I want to try a cooler option for warm indoor courts.

Why I rate these Nike socks 4.3/5

My overall score is 4.3 out of 5. The biggest reason is the improvement in perceived foot comfort during frequent pickleball. The excellent fit and low per-pair purchase price are positives too. I deducted the most for warmth during indoor play, and a little for cosmetic wear after repeated washing. This is my experience-based editorial rating, not a lab score or a customer-average rating.

My transparent scoring criteria (each rated from 1.0 to 5.0):

CriterionWeightScoreFirst-hand reason
Comfort and cushioning35%4.7/5Added padding at heel and sole feels more comfortable and less harsh on my feet than ordinary socks during frequent pickleball.
Fit and lateral play20%4.6/5My EU 42–46 socks fit very well and stay comfortable through quick side-to-side movements.
Moisture and heat management20%3.5/5They handle sweat reasonably well, but feel slightly too warm for my preference in a hot indoor sports hall.
Wear after washing10%4.1/5No holes after roughly 16 weeks in a six-pair rotation, although there is visible fading, discoloration and surface wear.
Value15%4.2/5Six pairs for €23.39 (approximately €3.90 per pair) feel worthwhile, though I want to try a cooler premium sock.

Weighted calculation: (4.7 × 0.35) + (4.6 × 0.20) + (3.5 × 0.20) + (4.1 × 0.10) + (4.2 × 0.15) = 4.305/5, rounded to 4.3/5.

All five weights sum to 100%. These are subjective editorial scores based on the specific observations documented here. The durability score refers only to functional condition after approximately 16 weeks in rotation, not a predicted lifetime. I have not independently tested moisture transfer, impact reduction, temperature or alternative brands under controlled conditions.

How I tested them — and what the hour estimate means

My observations come from regular pickleball since the June purchase, occasional all-day wear, and washing each pair after wearing it. I paid for the socks myself. I did not use laboratory moisture sensors, impact tests or a measured foot-pressure system, and I did not run a controlled comparison against specialist tennis socks. Comfort, warmth and perceived foot soreness here are my own experiences, not medical or biomechanical claims.

Evidence note: All product photographs in this review show my actual used socks. The outdoor-versus-indoor verdict comes from wearing them during play, not from Nike’s marketing claims.

The biggest improvement: cushioning and foot comfort

The reason I kept reaching for these socks is simple: after heavy pickleball sessions, my feet usually feel better in them than in normal casual socks. I can feel the extra fabric under the heel and other high-contact areas. It gives a slightly padded, softer sensation inside the shoe, particularly welcome when I play many hours in a week.

I do not think a pair of socks removes the load from repeated stops, lunges or lateral pushes. My experience is narrower but useful: the socks make those sessions more comfortable for me. Players whose feet are already happy in thin socks may not need this much cushioning. Comfortable socks cannot fix a badly fitted shoe, either; if you are choosing footwear, my pickleball shoe-fit guide explains what to check at the heel, midfoot and toe box.

Fit during side steps, changes of direction and normal daily wear

I chose EU 42–46, and the fit has been excellent for me. The socks feel secure and comfortable during quick side-to-side movements. I have not experienced a fit problem significant enough to make me stop wearing them for pickleball.

Nike describes the SX7664 construction as using a snug arch band and a thick terry sole. That matches the supportive, cushioned sensation I notice, but it should not be confused with measured arch support or proof of injury prevention. The crew length has also been comfortable on days when I wear the socks outside pickleball.

Sweat handling is fine; heat is the main trade-off

During ordinary play, I find the socks absorb or move moisture well enough to feel comfortable. But there is an important difference between managing sweat and feeling cool: on a warm indoor court, these can feel a little too hot for my taste.

For outdoor pickleball, I really like the added cushioning and warmth. If most of your games are in a heated sports hall, I would think twice before buying a large multipack without trying a pair first. A lighter, more ventilated sock may feel nicer, even if you give up some of the padded feel.

Nike markets the official SX7664 socks with Dri-FIT moisture-wicking technology, but I have not measured evaporation rates or claimed that my feet stay completely dry.

Durability after 16 weeks and repeated washing

I wash the socks after every wearing. So far none of the pairs has developed a hole. That is a meaningful positive for me given how often I play and how many times the socks have been in the laundry.

They do not look new, though. Some discoloration and visible surface wear have developed, which you can see in my photographs. I would not describe the socks as stain-proof, pristine or tested for a full year. My experience supports good short-to-medium-term functional durability, with normal-looking cosmetic aging.

Is €23.39 for six pairs good value?

At my purchase price, the set cost €23.39 ÷ 6 = approximately €3.90 per pair. For that price, I feel I received worthwhile added foot comfort over ordinary everyday socks. I also appreciate having enough pairs in rotation to wash them after each use without immediately running out.

That is historical purchase value, not a current Amazon price quote. Do not mistake my six-pair retailer offer for Nike’s standard SX7664-100 product page, which lists three pairs. Nike also has a distinct official six-pair SKU, SX7666-100, so always check the exact quantity, style identifier, size and colour before ordering.

Would I buy these again — or try a better indoor sock?

Yes, I would buy these again, especially for outdoor pickleball. But as I move toward more indoor play, I want to try something slightly more premium and, above all, cooler-feeling. Paying more only makes sense to me if it improves the warmth-and-comfort balance; an expensive sock is not automatically better.

Three alternatives worth considering (not personally tested against my SX7664)

  • Nike Everyday Lightweight Crew (SX7676-100): the logical first option if you want to try less bulk. Nike describes a lightweight sock with Dri-FIT and an arch band. I have not verified that it actually feels cooler than mine during pickleball.
  • NikeCourt Multiplier Cushioned (SK0118): a more court-specific, synthetic-fabric alternative with cushioning in high-wear areas. Potentially interesting for me when testing indoor comfort, but not a proven upgrade without trying it.
  • Nike Everyday Plus Cushioned (SX6888): Nike advertises cushioning under the forefoot and heel plus breathable knit on top. A reasonable model to look into if keeping cushioning is more important than having the thinnest possible sock.

Who should buy Nike SX7664 socks for pickleball?

  • Good fit: outdoor players, frequent recreational players, and people who want a padded sock that feels more comfortable than a typical everyday pair.
  • Good fit: buyers happy with an affordable six-pair bundle and willing to accept cosmetic discoloration over time.
  • Consider something lighter: people who mainly play in a hot indoor sports hall or dislike warm, thick socks.
  • Do not expect: medically demonstrated pain relief, a guarantee against blisters, or the performance of a specialist sock I have not personally compared.

Frequently asked questions

Are Nike Everyday Cushioned socks good for pickleball?

For me, yes. The extra padding and secure fit make them a very comfortable general-purpose sports sock for pickleball. I especially like them outdoors, where overheating has been less of a drawback.

Are these socks too hot for indoor pickleball?

They can be if the hall is warm. That is my biggest criticism, despite being satisfied with their comfort and moisture handling in other conditions.

How long have my Nike SX7664 socks lasted?

I have owned and rotated six pairs for 16 weeks, washing them after wearing them. None has a hole yet, but I can see minor surface wear and discoloration. I have not measured lifetime hours per pair.

Is the Nike SX7664 product a three-pack or a six-pack?

Nike’s own SX7664-100 page calls it a three-pack. My retailer’s SX7664-labelled order supplied six pairs; the Amazon listing is ASIN B09999HW7J. Nike’s distinct direct six-pair style is SX7666-100. Double-check the live listing rather than assuming all three products are interchangeable.
