About The Pickleball Wise

The Pickleball Wise is an independent educational site focused on clear pickleball rules, practical doubles strategy, skills, positioning, and training.

The site is created by Jonathan Gron, a pickleball player and racket-sports enthusiast. The goal is to turn complicated rules and on-court decisions into explanations that are easy to understand and useful in real rallies.

What we cover

  • Pickleball rules and basics, including scoring, serving, faults, court dimensions, and the Kitchen.
  • Skills and strategy, including drops, drives, dinks, resets, volleys, positioning, stacking, poaching, and doubles communication.
  • Practical decision frameworks that help explain not only how to hit a shot, but when it belongs in the rally.

How the guides are created

Rules-based articles are checked against official rules and authoritative governing-body material where appropriate. Strategy and skill articles combine established coaching principles, practical court experience, and supporting sources when a claim benefits from verification.

We do not invent first-hand testing, credentials, or experience. When a guide is research-based, it is presented as research-based. If The Pickleball Wise later publishes product reviews or buying guides, hands-on experience and research-based evaluation will be kept clearly distinct.

Corrections and updates

Pickleball rules and best practices can change. Articles are updated when rules change, stronger sources become available, or an explanation can be made more useful. If you spot an error, we want to correct it rather than defend it.
