Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

The Pickleball Wise is a website offering pickleball guides, articles, and product reviews. This policy explains what personal information may be processed when you visit the website or contact us, why we process it, and how you can exercise your rights.

1. Who operates this website?

The website is operated by Jonathan Grøn, as an individual, under the name The Pickleball Wise. For privacy questions, requests to exercise your data-protection rights, or questions about who is responsible for processing your information, email [email protected]. The website address is https://thepickleballwise.com/.

2. Information we process and why

Visiting pages and securing the website

When a browser connects to the website, the hosting and content-delivery infrastructure may process technical data such as the IP address, requested URL, date and time, user-agent or browser information, and security events. This data is used to serve pages, secure the website, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain the service. The main legal basis for processing for these purposes is our legitimate interest in operating a safe and functional website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Where a legal obligation applies, Article 6(1)(c) may also be relevant.

Emails you choose to send

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use these details to read and answer your enquiry, handle corrections, or discuss a proposed collaboration. The legal basis is generally our legitimate interest in responding to relevant messages (Article 6(1)(f)); where correspondence is needed to take steps toward a contract, Article 6(1)(b) may apply. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive personal information. Our public contact page uses an email link, not an embedded website contact form.

Site administration

Authorized administrators may have WordPress user accounts. Account and authentication information is used to manage and secure the website. Public visitor account registration and public comments are currently disabled.

3. Hosting, service providers, and recipients

Our website and email use Hostinger for hosting-related and email services. We use Cloudflare for website delivery, DNS and security. Depending on the service and request, those providers may process connection data, email content, and technical records to provide the service. Authorized site administrators may also access information when necessary. Information is not sold to advertisers by The Pickleball Wise.

The providers publish information about how they process data and their data-processing terms: Hostinger Data Processing Addendum and Cloudflare GDPR information. Those published documents are not a guarantee that any particular visitor request remains within the EU.

4. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

We do not currently intentionally run optional third-party audience analytics, advertising pixels, or remarketing tags on our public pages. In particular, Cloudflare Real User Monitoring has been disabled, and no third-party tools are currently configured in Cloudflare Zaraz. Ordinary security and website delivery mechanisms can still use technical cookies or similar measures where necessary, and authorized WordPress administrators can receive authentication cookies.

On a sample of the public website, we did not find JavaScript-visible cookies or browser storage. That is a limited technical observation, not a guarantee that no cookie or similar technology will ever be used on any page, for any visitor, or after following a third-party link. We do not request optional cookie consent for tracking that is not currently deployed. If non-essential tracking is introduced, we will assess whether prior consent and a consent-management mechanism are required before enabling it. You can also inspect and manage cookies through your browser.

5. Affiliate links and external websites

Some pages link to third-party retailers or product manufacturers, including Amazon. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases; see our Affiliate Disclosure. When you follow a third-party link, the destination website may process data under its own privacy and cookie practices. Prices and availability can vary by country, and we do not claim participation in every country’s affiliate program. Ordinary links do not, by themselves, mean that a third-party checkout is hosted on this site.

6. International processing

Cloudflare operates an international network, and our service providers or their subprocessors may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area when a specific service requires it. Where legally required, relevant safeguards may include adequacy decisions or contractual safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for information relevant to your request by emailing the contact address above.

7. How long we keep information

We keep contact messages only while needed for correspondence, resolving issues, maintaining an appropriate record of a collaboration, or meeting a specific legal obligation. Messages that no longer serve one of those purposes should be deleted through periodic review. Technical and security records are retained according to their actual operational need and the applicable service-provider settings or terms; those periods can differ between hosting, CDN/security systems, and backups. We do not claim an exact deletion period for records controlled by providers unless it has been verified. Information may be retained longer when a specific legal requirement or active dispute makes that necessary.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access to personal data about you, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. To exercise your rights, email [email protected]. We may need enough information to verify that a request concerns you before disclosing personal information.

You also have the right to complain to your competent supervisory authority. In Denmark, that is Datatilsynet.

9. Updates

We will review this notice when website features, service providers, or legal obligations change. If analytics, newsletter subscriptions, public comments, embedded third-party services or additional forms are enabled in the future, this notice and any necessary consent settings should be updated first.
